Happy News
Today I was able to go to Ludus Hospital and with the staff psychologist and social worker, we were able to make a contract with the hospital -- translation: we can start going back to visit babies!!! I am going on Friday with two of the last interns here for a brief visit. We did get to see the kids today. Here's a rundown of who I saw:
In room 1: (older Gabi's old room)
Fernando, Firuta and Andreeas
In room 2: (room for the older toddlers)
2 new children and Sebi
In room 3: (Ralu and Marius' old room)
Gabi, Gabi and Liviu (walking in his crib)
In room 4: (Firuta, Paul and Andreeas' old room)
Mirela (Tara -- she's still prissy) and Larissa
In room 5: (Fernando and Gabi's old room)
Darius, Lacremoare (aka Scooter), Alec, a new baby and the baby with clenched fists that we wondered if she was blind -- hands not so clenched now
Lots of little faces and hands missing... hope they are ok where they are at.
The place looks so different -- wooden paneled floors have replaced peeling old linoleum, the walls have been tiled and so they are even and kids can't eat paint from them, the rooms have been painted bright colors and have murals on the walls. The baby side is still under construction with paint fumes everywhere and the babies breathing it in with every breath. And possibly the most important change, a wall has been established to close off the easily accessed stairs that the walking toddlers were, of course, drawn towards. The door was not closed today, but at least the danger was recognized and a solution has been attempted.

Hurray!!! Praise the Lord! I am SO excited that you got the contract! What an answer to prayer! And all the improvements to the facility...WOW! Just shows that God will provide beyond what we even think to ask for. And all my baby girls are still there...I have pix of Scooter and Mirela in my home. I miss them and pray for them every day (along with all the others of course). Oh, Happy Day!
